Thanks for that. Can I buy a mifi in Benidorm?Yes you pay and if I remember correctly we got better braodband by buying a local SIM in the market for about 15 euros which gave us a whole lot of data to use via our MiFi.

Yes you have to pay for wifi at Villasol the cost is currently €30 for 30 days. Lesser packages of time are more expensive as usual. You can only connect one device at a time unless you have a Motorhome wifi device or similar.
If you are staying for 6 months you are best to get a contract with iCloud who are located across from Benidorm Palace. They fit a receiver and provide a private wifi to your van for €20 a month. It is much faster and more stable than the site system. You pay €70 deposit for the device.
Thanks stewartwebr that sounds much better. I have read about the electric price but I have no idea what a kWh is or how to work it out. I have two solar panels and 3 leisure batteries so hopefully I can run most of my mh on that apart from my electric cooking hobs and just recharge my batteries with hook up when neededShould have added electric is the real expensive item at Villasol at €0.42 per KWh
Should of also said I have two refillable gas canisters as well so might be better to run fridge on them? And BBQ food with my cadac BBQ through my gas bottles?Should have added electric is the real expensive item at Villasol at €0.42 per KWh
Our small fridge uses roughly 3kwh per day. Gas is cheaper for us as we have a refillable Gaslow system. Thanks stewartwebr that sounds much better. Hi Ed. thank you for the excellent info. I have just clicked on the gaslow link. Do you know which adapter I need for the repsol tank? The Wifi situation on Villasol can and has changed from year to year.
The site wifi can be relatively expensive, unreliable and slow, unless they have made substantial progress over the summer I would find an alternative.
If you are staying for the six months, then a contract with a local supplier would be your best option. If you are staying for less time then the Mifi and sim option would be fine so long as you are not using it for streaming or downloading TV.
There is the 'cloud' option as mentioned above which would be OK for the six months, again there were issues relating to speed and availability with some of their users last winter but most seem generally satisfied.
As we plan to be on Villasol in the future winters we have arranged an unlimited usage / 6MBps contract with 'Aeromax' which allows us to suspend the service when not in Beni, we pay DD €20 per month when connected and €10 when suspended. Initially we payed an additional €20 for the router which we now own, and a €50 deposit for the antenna, all the gear we keep and will set up when we return in October. Last winter we shared the service and cost with Funster neighbours, the system coped well with multiple devices connected.
On the Elec and Gas, I would recommend the local Repsol propane gas cylinders they are available second hand and can be exchanged either on the site or at the Repsol depot just down the road (11kg €11.80 last year). You may need one of these to connect it to the filler point for your refillable cylinders.

We run the fridge and heating on the gas using approx one cylinder every 2 weeks in the coldest months.
Depending on your 12v usage you may get away with very little metered electricty using the solar panels.
We have a lot of solar and batteries and run an inverter for 240v, last winter we only used €19 for the 6 months.
Cheers
Ed
Hi hilldweller thanks for the info. Much appreciated. PaulAn decent electric heater is 3kW ( it's on a label somewhere ) so switch it on for an hour and you use 3kWh.
A 100Ah 12V battery stores about 1200Wh or 1.2kWh so very roughly that's what it cost to fully charge.
Two solar panels, guess 100W each, at the very best you could get 200W every hour or 0.2kWh. Enough for lighting and TV but nothing when it comes to electric kettles.
The hose and this one will be fine.Hi

You will not need the right angle as there is a gap in the top surround of the repsol propane cylinders.
Cheers
