There seems to be quite a few of you online tonight. Why is that?, shouldn't you be out in your van? Why are you at home?

We never go away on Bank holidays. All that traffic, all those tourists, I hate it

I used to go away regularly at witsun but recently the bank holiday don't seem to register with me

hmmm let's see. Busy roads and dodgy weather forecast. Oh yes, Barbara wants the carpets cleaned, the patio cleaned, the cars cleaned, the rv cleaned.
Apart from that we're taking a week off in a couple of weeks time.

Motorhome in dock having electrical/transformer/rectifier problems fixed. Seemed best time to get it booked in while everyone was away and who wants to be stuck in traffic jams anyway? Also sounds as if the weather's not going to be too clever as well.

Queued for 20 minutes just to get the petrol pumps and that was at a Sainsburys Garage that had run out of diesel, the sat in traffic for half an hour on what should have been a 5 minute journey.

We like to drive not sit in traffic, rather get up at 3am and drive down clear roads

Just got back from the East cost, home to do the housey things like cleaning and saving up for Stratford. My pension dont come in till 1st of month and skint.

But wew are of to Alton Towers stopping at a near by CL for a 4 nights.

Even had to put my ferry booking forward a week due to running out of time.

Now......if only i could take early retirement or figure out how the doleys 'work' the benefits system, i'd have the time to holiday the year round then!

NEVER EVER GO AWAY ON BANK HOLIDAYS!! traffic is a nightmare and weather is usually crap (see forecast) get the other half to do those diy jobs that have been hanging around for ages(well thats the theory)

We should have been setting off for the weekend this morning but last minute problems at work mean we are just ready to set off now!

Never mind the holiday starts as soon as we get in the RV - hope every one has a good bank holiday weekend, I know we will!

Bank Holidays

Like most folk, we do not like the traffic that you find on the roads on Bank Holidays.
The number of Motorhomes and caravans going North on the A80 as we were returning from a wee trip round Stirling and Perthshire was phenomenal!
One poor chap even had the misfortune to part company with his caravan on the same road round about Cumbernauld way.
It did not take long before there was a tremendous build-up of queues.
I pitied anyone trying to go North last night.
I was happy that I was going home for the week-end.
Early retirement means that we can suit ourselves and just go where and when the mood takes us.
So, to all those who have managed to get away, keep calm, the jams will soon disappear and you will find yourselves pitched up soon.
Have a Good One!!!!
