Hi all

I’m considering fitting a double din head unit in my 2018 Ford based MoHo.

I’m currently using Copilot (MoHo edition) but note that that doesn’t support CarPlay.

So, any recommendations for a Motorhome compatible (features length, width restrictions etc) Sat Nav app that supports CarPlay and does the job well?

I believe you have the options of everything that has an app via a mobile phone. Google, ‘maps’etc works well for us.

Yes I spotted that standard apps support it (Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps) - but they do not support routing with width, height, weight restrictions etc.

I thought google had something like that. We have both Tomtom ‘trucker‘ and Google maps running on separate devises. You might be able to get tomtom as a smartphone app - not sure

I use Waze because it shows speed and speed limits when using CarPlay. I gave up using Copilot before I got CarPlay because even with the width and weight entered it still sent me down silly narrow roads and the latest version no longer has the road profile feature, which was its only saving grace. Google and Waze are just as good, free and have better traffic information.

I don’t think there is currently an Apple Car Play compatible app that supports vehicle size.
We use Google Maps as it links seamlessly with Campercontact.
Been using for a while now across Europe without issue

Rouen going west - east or reverse; west side of the Paris peripherique; apart from that common sense and reading bridge heights is more reliable. Garmin for example having tried to route me across a 6'6" bridge and try and make a 320degree turn to save 20 yd. As above, Campercontact and Google Maps with eyes open.
