The fridges in both the motor home and boat are quite rubbish when in warmer climes and don't keep very cool, let alone frozen, so I'm thinking of getting a standalone 12v freezer box so we can go off grid for longer and not have to rely on uht milk and tinned food.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

That is very reasonably priced. But as you say, not currently available.
Do you have one? I'm looking for personal recommendations.
No we got the mobicool fr40. It's been replaced now with a very similar one (similar model N°)
Was €250 about 4 years ago from a German seller.
It goes down to -10c but at that temperature it runs a lot so I think the insulation could be better, mind you we were in Benidorm 😆
Compressor runs at 2 to 3 amps depending on internal temperature, build quality is fine👍

PS noise wise it's no noisier than a fan running.

We have the Dometic CX35,, not cheap but will go down to -22c easily we were in France last year temp around 30/31c worked fine but takes a fair set of batteries to run it at the low setting. Will hold -14 very well with a lot less strain on the batteries. Has two power leads one 12 volt one 240. As soon as you plug into hook up it switches from 12 to 240. Also has wi-fi so you can check its running ok. It’s in the garage right under my pillow but very quiet.

Why do you sleep in the garage?😀

We purchased one of the Dometic Hybrid ones last year it’s a 3• freezer meaning you place pre frozen food in it. It will keep food frozen down to -20. We load the freezer (pre chilled befor placing food in) then travel to site the food tremors turn rises to say -14 after say 6 hours the. Plug it in and over night the temperature can drop to -20)

we keep it outside the van and it’s plugged in to 240v mains. You can run it on 12v but all these coolers on 12v drop the fridge temp to about 20 degrees below ambient temp.

It means we can go away for two weeks without having to shop.

We have two dometic cool boxes a CFX3 55 which has an ice maker for the Gin and a 100 for those bigger trips, can be set to fridge or freezer, the 100 can be set to both as it has two separate compartments, expensive bits of kit but you get what you pay for with cool boxes. Best on the market IMHO
