No flattish space in the engine bay big enough, no where suitable on either door pillar. Plastic liners on both cab steps. Can I attach it to the seat base facing outwards? Does it actually matter where it goes?

Looks good to me, I have 2 on the passenger seat base, original in door jam and another sticker under the bonnet, all of them different.

You could put it in the door closure in a vertical manner.
It doesn't have to be the size you have received it.
Providing all the information is there in one piece, that is sufficient.

Best on the windscreen as it’ll remind you of payload 🙄

Seat base looks perfect, it where we had them on our Landrovers 👍🏻

There's not much I can trim off the plate. I've looked around the doorframe but nowhere suitable 🤷
What weight increase/ decrease did you go for ?
Just up from 3400 to 3500, max I could go without fitting semi air which is expensive for an alko chassis. I wanted to put a scooter on a rack but I'm going to use a little trailer instead.
