The MOT isn't due until 1st April - a lot can happen in two months!after reading this you may want to think hard about the hab check:-
Fined after taking Chausson for hab check & service
Copied from the Chausson forum. Be very aware, I just collected my 640 from Lowdhams Newark where I took it for habitation check and service yesterday. On the way home to Northampton I was stopped by the Police and explained the reason for my journey. my wife and I were immediately issued...www.motorhomefun.co.uk

I have booked mine in for 4th March because, once we are allowed out to play, there will be a rush to get legal again, I think.
You could get your mot done at Plymouth city bus, I have been using them since 2006. Fair and unbiased.
HiInteresting suggestion Bessy, thank you, I’d never have thought of that. I’ll try them. Where do you get your hab check done?
Is that at Cattedown Chris?Recently used RPB Motor Services for MOT. £40 for class 7. Very pleased, good service. They have a viewing area so you can watch. Use Tamar Caravans at Plympton for HAB but they are shut at the moment.
I use Bill Lomas at Ivybridge for MOTs and servicing for my PVC. Never had a hab check as it's a PVC so damp not an issueWe bought our used Fiat Ducato Globecar PVC from a dealer many miles away. Our first MOT is due 1st April and I think we probably also need a habitation check. Please can anyone recommend where to do this in the Plymouth area or surrounds. Thank you in advance.
Yes..... they were very business like. I will certainly use them again. Is that at Cattedown Chris?
Thank you. Perhaps we don’t need a hab check either, hmmm. I was thinking that a hab check would check the gas and electric safety...I use Bill Lomas at Ivybridge for MOTs and servicing for my PVC. Never had a hab check as it's a PVC so damp not an issue
Tis tight parking at Trans repair, ample room at Plymouth citybus...you could get a bus in there....Thanks Devongirl. Had my MOT with Transport Repair a couple of weeks ago. Can be a little bit of a nightmare trying to park, although they will assist if required.
I bought my MH from Marquis in Lee Mill (Transport Repair do their mechanical work and MOTs) but Marquis themselves can do the Hab check.
They aren'tIt makes me wonder why Lowdhams is open. Others have closed, I was phoned to have a February appointment cancelled because as a non essential leisure industry they said they had to close their premises.
They were definitely working during the previous lockdowns, we used their services last year.I wonder if any of the mobile approved motorhome people are doing habitation checks. If they do not have any premises to work from and that’s the only way they can run their businesses they might be allowed. Just a thought. They might not be eligible for any grants to be closed again and might go out of business otherwise.
Good to know thanks as our fridge has gone wrong sitting on the drive. It should be under warranty but if time drifts on we might just phone someone and hang the expense. Our first rally/ gathering is April and we don’t want to try to manage without a fridge. We walk past it everyday so noticed lights on the control panel, how odd we thought when it’s all off. Tried resetting it but kept doing it and now it’s dead completely. They were definitely working during the previous lockdowns, we used their services last year.
