Hymer grand canyon

Hello everyone......
I've decided to get my hands dirty and change both of my leisure batteries as they don't seem to hold charge like they used too. Everything has gone okay and the new batteries are in place, I'm putting everything back together but I cannot think where the end of this was fixed too.
I have a hymer grand canyon.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You need to find out where the other end goes, it may have come off the battery positive but I wouldn't do anything until you know what it is.

Looks like an earth to seat frame to me. Multimeter on it and to body work to see if live?
I think it came off the seat frame too! Where would the other end connect too if this was the case?

If earth then could be anything except main battery earth as looks a bit weedy. Dash cam, rear view screen, added usb or 12v socket etc ......

Any tell tale markings on those, or any other studs to suggest where it goes?

This is the other end which I think is in the correct place. I can't tell from any markings where the end coming out of the back of the chair goes.

This is now only part of the problem!! My solar charge controller is on standby.

When reconnecting solar you must connect the battery to the charge controller before reconnecting the panels to the controller, this allows the controller to recognise the battery voltage. Did you leave the panels connected to the controller and just disconnect from the battery? This will confuse the controller.

It is present on both driver and passenger seats. I assumed it was something to do with seat airbags / seatbelt pretentioner
It crossed my mind too but most/all SRS devices use yellow (with a colour stripe). Could also be the seat belt switch if the vehicle warns of seat belts not fastened.

Yes. Possibly the seat occupancy sensor 👍

I’m pretty sure it’s an earth link between the fixed seat base and the seat frame that rotates, near the seat belt buckle. It comes up through the central hole. Have a look where the lower end is bolted to, you should find it to one side of the seat box.

100% sure it's an earth. Mine is trapped between a nice shiny area on both the seat and the subframe shown in your picture.

It's most likely an earth to the UPPER part of the seat swivel to ensure a definite earth rather than just relying on a contact earth through the swivel.
Most likely for the pre tensioner or seat occupancy sensor for airbags.

Yes I did. Now it won't come out of standby!

You could try disconnecting the controller from both the battery and the panels, wait a couple of minutes for the controller to completely power down and then reconnect the battery first then the panels second. Hopefully that will work.

Tried this and unfortunately not worked.
