Ok, so van out of storage, all good and started perfectly.

Now, due to current house, can't get on the drive (hence storage) and can not park out on road (to busy and on junction)

Need to get water, thought when I fuel up I will use garage water (don't drink from tank) and garage had no water point just air!!!

Due to head off tomorrow (van back at storage after visit to garage), need suggestions, don't really want to garage hop until I find somewhere, any ideas? Storage do not have a water point / tap......

We use a 5 litre drum and empty plastic milk containers for drinking water. A few extra will give you enough to wash too until you can get the tank filled.

The pub will be fine with a few watering cans full of water. If not, find another pub.

I would buy a couple of 20 litre plastic Gerry cans and fill these for when you go to your storage area to pick up your van these will keep you going until you get to your first stop and then you can fill up properly from there.

Cemetery is good option with the added bonus that the inhabitants are unlikely to complain about you taking the water.

When we fiorst moved to France we lived in two purpose built sheds in the garden, but had no running water for the first 3 years apart from the sort you had to run and get. The closet village had no public tap apart, from by the cemetery entrance which is where I used to go and fill up my two 25 liter containers. No one ever complained.

First stop is a pub car park, also doesn't have outside water option.....

Worst case we will have enough for tea and a morning wash 😉
Lidl by the ltr. Filled my tank that way once only cost a few £

We have a similar problem.

I normally stick in a couple of watering can fulls, enough to flush the loo and then fill when we arrive.

If we do need to fill at home then I simply have an arrangement with the chap over the road who as an outside tap at the front of his house.
Judging by how stiff the tap is I'd guess my one or two uses per year are all the use the tap gets.

Has your storage facility not got a standpipe?😊

I have just taken my house off the market not because I had a shortage of buyers but because Van had certain needs , outside tap parking and easy access to drainage for cassette.

In France (which is not relevent) look for petanque courts, players do not like dirty hands and often have a standpipe.

I travel in winter without ever filling my water tank. I take ten and five litre containers, and sports water bottles in the fridge. That water lasts at least a couple of days, and I’ve not had any trouble refilling one or other of the larger containers. In your situation I’d get a couple of containers which you can fill at home and take to your motorhome.

Yup, think that's what we are going to do and see how we get on...... As long as I can get a cup of tea in the morning
