What’s this all about then? Not seen them before but a lot of people on this Spanish site (long termers) seem to be covering their wheels. Some with proper covers like this, others with cardboard, some with window ‘silvers’. It’s hot, but why would you cover your wheels?

Preventing UV degradation of the rubber compounds. Well worth doing if exposed to long term UV rays.
 
I cover mine with proper covers as recently replaced 3 year old Michelin cross climates with cracked walls.

As said the tyres degrade in the sun. Around here you even find white van man doing it in places.
