Hi all.

I'm replacing my Fiamma skylight with one with built in motorised fan. I had Sikaflex 512 at the ready, but when i took old one out which was fixed by this grey putty like material. Any ideas what it is? and is the Sikaflex 512 ok to use?

You want a non setting sealant like Sika Lastomer 710 or W4 butyl tape

Sikaflex NO, you need a non setting sealant such as Hodgsons Seamseal CV or a lot use the tape now.

It will be a nightmare to ever remove if you use sikaflex.

I would and it would again be a non setting type, belt and braces me.

Yes get plenty on, any excess will ooze out around the exterior edges, although don't overdo it.
