Ok on our road trip to Italy, the Freezer vent decided it didn't want to come with us and decided to jump off somewhere in Switzerland.

So I now have a big hole where the vent is..

I'm off to find one today at a camper shop in cervia. But if I can't or won't pay the extortionate rate when I have two spare ones at home, what damage could be done?

I'd imagine you'd be okay. You're not in Scotland so no horizontal rain.

Would look quite tempting to any nest making animals if you are parked up in the same spot for too long.

Borrow a bread crate or similar ,cut it to fit and tape it on.
( On a secondary note are you sure it just came off, there was a post some years ago where a funster parked at a motorway services area, and travellers were in the car park. Came back to find his vents missing)

How about those mesh bags you can get in supermarkets for veg? Open it up and tape it on. 50p in Lidl, I suppose equivalent wherever you are.

Do you have any of that perforated rubber mat material in any of your cupboards or draws, to stop noise/movement?
I’d tape that over the hole if I wanted something to hand.

Pride firstly, I bet that wasn’t a cheap van.

Of course ingress of everything as well, especially water if it rains. You could try to cover it somehow but how do you keep the air flow that’s required. If you’re running it on gas, then is there a chance of monoxide building up.

With the price of the van, I’d be inclined to pay for the replacement and then there’ll be no need to have it sitting on your mind all the while.

How on earth did it come off. Shouldn’t be body flexing. Maybe not fitted correctly or is it possible that someone could have taken it.
