We have an armatige A frame with a Fiat 500 lounge. The frame is a little heavy but we do not know we have the Fiat behind.

We had a Peugeot 107 and now a Kia Rio 3, bot work well.
Never fancied a two seat job , too restricted.

We A Frame a 2013 Peugeot 107, 5 door, zero tax and economical with plenty of room inside for a small car.

Long List of candidates. I currently have a Fiat Punto, ( actually the 4th in a row, which allowed me to swap the "rig" without cost.) I loved the Smart, but they are a bit short on "Space", and we tend to load "stuff" in the "toad" as a Trailer, (or did when we where doing Festival Marshalling). I fancy the P 107, or its derivatives, CitroenC1, Toyota Aygo, next, as they can come with "semi" auto gearboxes and still be flat towed. In the USA we toaded a Toyota Tacoma Pickup, ( The Hilux Here), I always fancied one of the earlier (pre 2010? I think) "Jimnys" with the auto box and Manual Transfer case which allows to disconnect the drive under tow. IF you are going for a Manual G`box, then the options are greater. Just be aware that some manufacturers do specifically state that warranty is voided IF you do. Once out of warranty there is not an issue.

Tow bars to Tow cars. Used to publish a list of cars they converted, some with "Auto" boxes too, But I note it is missing from their website at the moment?.

Is there really a bad small car now. As long as you accept it’s just a shopping trolley and not a long distance tourer I would think most are very good. We tend to look for something that can be serviced locally etc rather than driving miles to get anything done.

VW Up.

Used to have a Toyota IQ, zero tax, 60mpg, cheap insurance, bigger than you think inside. Car and A frame weigh less than a ton. (y)

I'm considering a toad for the future and wondering if electric can be towed?

Another up for the Up!
Back seats down and its a 2 seater or a trailer for twt.
Also more than capable for 100 mile trip to mil

You don’t say what MH you are to Tow with but obviously weight is an issue, imho there is only one car to consider a Toyota IQ, 845kg seats 4 which is suitable for short jaunts, great economy and they hold their value.

5 door VW Up is 929kg and comfortable on longer journeys as well as short ones.

I don't think they can. I am sure I read somewhere that Tesla's are hard to move if they break down.

I think I would need a pilots licences not just a c1!!!!
This ones a bit slower HERE
I guess from your 1000kg limit you have an Autotrail yes?
Ive used Smart ForTwo, Toyota Aygo now a Hyundai
all the small hatches seem suitable

I find the VW Up tows better than the Smart I had before and you don’t have the difficulty of the false neutral that can cause problems. The Smart was fun but we changed because we needed 4 passenger doors. I am glad we did because the Up is more comfortable, has more seats and more storage space.

Mazda MX5 MK1 great little toad but now relegated to just a fun car because of the 2 dogs we now use Peugeot 207 convertible as a toad
For the enjoyment vote I agree with the MX5

Before anyone rushes out to buy a mx5 to tow, check with your aframe supplier of choice, the latter ones cant be. Anyone got a definitive list of what can and cant be, sure this will come up again.

Good point, we have the I10 and it does everything we want. But an MX5 does have the smile factor. Haha
