Our last van had a heated waste water tank. All well and good, but someone - in their infinite wisdom - put the switch at foot level under the table.

Firstly, we kicked it on without realising it, but we also couldn't tell because we couldn't bl∞dy see it! Clever.

What annoys you about your van? :giggle:

On a more serious note, the Ducato's controls are not good. Windscreen wipers, you click down to make them go faster which is odd, except when you adjust the intermittent wipe, where it's you twist up to go faster. The cruise control stalk should not be the same size and shape as the indicators above it. And for some reason to switch it on and off with the button on the end. But also switch it on by twisting it. And then the fog light buttons are hidden behind the steering wheel. It's a usability nightmare.

Hi.
You mean, they do ALL that as well :ROFLMAO: ? WOW. Do Haynes auto manuals have a book on this ? On the plus side,it has a very Agricultural growl from the exhaust, like the sound of an Old 5 cylinder Gardner engine. 🚛

Ours is heated by the ducting from the heating, if it's cold enough for heating the tanks are kept from freezing.

My gripe is that the gas locker is inside the garage requiring me to open up and move things around so I can get to the gas locker, I would have liked an external dedicated gas locker door.

Only a minor bug bear but the size of water tanks Autosleeper fit. For the size of the motorhome 60/55 ltrs seems a bit silly. Our PVC had the same size tanks.

The Truma heater is in the rear corner while we use the cab area to sit/dine. Heat comes out well in the bed area and the shower but very little from the ducts in the cab area.

Otherwise it seems spot on.

The Truma frost dump valve is completely hidden so it has to be operated by feel.

The other annoying feature is the 2 drawers under the fixed bed, hard to get at, and stuff in the underbed garage has to be shifted so the drawers can open at all. I store things in those drawers that I obviously will never need to access, such as my toolkit, it being well-known that Ducatos need no attention, ever!

Possibly, lag the heating flexi ducts as they exit the boiler cupboard on there way to the poorly heated areas. Turn down/off the vents in the hot areas to push the heat to where it's most needed. If there's a garage, turn off the heater in that area.
Mike.

Having to use a stool to get stuff in and out of cupboards and the heated cassette cupboard, stewed poo anyone, have yet to find a means of switching/closing it off.

Thanks but, the ducts are lagged, even though running internally. The problem seems to be a lack of oomph from the fan. Three outlets are within 1m of the heater and the other is about 2.5m. Turning off the valves on the closer outlets doesn’t help a lot as the are butterfly valves and, with the fan on high, they are blown open. I could put some blue tack, or equivalent, by the butterfly to keep it shut. That may be my next move.

If the heater had been swapped with the Sargent unit it would have been OK but may have presented some other difficulties.

All the usual measures are in place. Screen insulation, air valve in cab moved to recycling not fresh.

It’s not a major issue but the only one that annoys me as it could have been solved by a little more thought in planning.

Having said that, I feel that this is my first motorhome in almost 40 years where the designers have actually used a motorhome themselves. Most other items are OK.

Our is there and I think it's great, as we have duo regulator with crash protection and anti-rupture hoses also 14kg Alugas refillables, only need to oprnen it to turn bottles off & on for Channel crossing. Not quite true as its so big I store loads of junk in there.

How well Truma Combi's work is down to the installation. Installed properly they work very well no complaints on ours.
Our van is 7.5m the boiler is mounted centrally under the lounge seat, 4 vents in the lounge front and aft of captain seats, heating outlets along the dash between roller blind & screen, outlets in shower & toilet. Also heating outlets along the sides of the bed and one in the garage. Works really well.
