I forgot my camera at Stratford Upon A show, so used my little camera out of the glovebox.
For low light and filming the entertainment it was not very good but for sunlight outdoors, I was amazed at the 16 zoom results.
These cameras are old, so second hand will be a steal. I have previously compared the image results to the newer 20 zoom model sony Cybershot WX350 and the older camera HX9v images size for size, pixel for pixel are superior.
Albeit the newer model has WiFi and NFC but for a pocket camera check out these comparison pictures.
They are the same viewpoint and the zoom target is red circled.
I have used URL Links you can see the larger pictures.

They are a good camera nothing beats a good lens.

I have a tiny Sony and a Panasonic Lumix, but don't use them as much as I should.

Cheers James

I have one of those. Great little camera that I can see no difference in picture quality to my Nikon SLR cameras.

They are a good camera nothing beats a good lens.
Addendum: "nothing beats a good lens... with skill and time".

The processing power in modern phones can compensate for a hell of a lot and produce excellent photos. Just about the only place they aren't redundant for non-professionals is heavy zoom.
