Ive been on EVanbitz site and also sent a pm but no reply. I cant find out why they are so liked on this site. What is a growler alarm, and why they are worth having over other alarms. Getting a new van soon!

Very loud!! Quite a few sirens inside and out. The theory is that if inside you wouldn’t want to be and outside any alarm would get noticed , not like an average car alarm.

Sensors on doors and lockers, motion sensor inside.

We had one on our Moho and would certainly fit another if we bought another van. Best on the market.

Great service from the company and very professional. Ring them. They are good to talk to.

Eddie has retired but his family are continuing the business.

An alarm with loud internal sounder - but expensive. Like all these alarms It's a waste of money if you never leave any expensive items in your van to be nicked. I have a standard Thatcham Cat 1 just to please the insurance company.

I have the cheaper Strikeback.
Not so many sirens...
But when I've accidentally set it off, the alarm doesn't sound too loud...
But after a few seconds it appears to go out phase and become very disconcerting.
I don't think a thief could stand it for long...
As I understand it ... The Growler is significantly more powerful.

AshVanBitz will be best placed to respond but as weekend this may take till Monday? Eddie if you pmd him has retired.

But the Growler alarm is top end. Specifically wired for motorhomes, it is not simply a plug in option. Sensors on doors, lockers, and internal movement. You can set alarm with interior off do you have perimeter protection whilst asleep. Accessory loop so you protect you cycle on its external rack. F off loud sirens inside and out (I more than heard my missed alarm from the wrong side of Fleet motorway services car park), Integrates with nonstartersystem (even if scrotes get into vehicle with keys they still can't start it) ....

Pretty well why I would have nothing else……

If you go with the engine non starter kit as well ,you down load the Metatrak + app & you can immobilise the engine & also track the Van from anywhere in the world .If the scroats manage to get your keys yes they can turn the alarm off but they wouldn’t be able to start the engine .
It is quite an expensive bit of kit but if you have spent a lot of money on a Motorhome it’s worth protecting it , However it’s still worth having some other security such as steering wheel lock & also reverse the drivers seat & lock it in place & the buggers won’t be able to get behind the wheel .

In addition, when fitted with Metatrac Tracker and Non starter you get a nice little text message that your alarm has activated. If we leave the van at home when away we leave the fob with neighbours should it go off accidentally otherwise we would have to leave the village on returning home; it is V LOUD. Having said that the only activations have been user error! I am also fortunate that the company is also in my neck of the woods!

Good evening Cliffdale,

If you are able to pm me your email I would be more than happy to send you over the full specifications on all of our security options when I get back into the office on Monday morning. (This goes to anyone else that would also like the information).

However to give you a brief insight the Growler first and foremost provides a comprehensive visual deterrent. Having bright blue flush mounted LED’s fitted to the outside of the vehicle minimises the amount of idiots that would attempt to break into the vehicle.

Obviously it won’t stop everyone and those are the ones that get to experience the three externally mounted sirens and the two internal sirens (all covertly fitted and ranging between 105-125db’s each). All the sirens start to isolate and work against one another to amplify the sound in every direction making it very uncomfortable to say the least.

The idea of the Growler (or any alarm for that matter) is to stand out and turn heads. The bigger and brighter it is, the more effective it is at keeping not only your vehicle protected, but most importantly it also keeps you and your loved ones safe whilst you are in it.

Kindest regards

Ash

I had mine fitted 12 months ago full system and with the blue lights around the van flashing tell anyone who might have any criminal thoughts that it’s protected and they don’t really know what will happen if they do break in. I set it off a couple of times to let the neighbours hear what it was like so they knew what to expect and all were amazed at the loudness.
What it does is give you piece of mind, if anyone did get into the van they would not stay around for long, it’s too dam loud to stay inside and out of the van and they would really struggle to stop it, everything is hidden.

I liked the system because it is so well thought out but even more importantly is that when I had two vehicles taken and the thieves had the keys to the MoHo thy is the one they left alone, probably due to the external LED’s on the strike back system. I can imagine they thought one wrong press and every one is going to wake up and the probability of a tracker so they didn’t touch the MoHo.

I have Strikeback flashing blue led's etc etc, This is I think my 3rd..

I also have added a disklock, the hydraulic jacks are on so the van is slightly off the ground, the remote is in the house in a safe,,

I have the ultimate deterrent, a picture of Eddie sitting on a portable toilet..

Seriously, its about the best you can get..

You pm’d me 4th February and I replied.

However, you have the answers now and are in touch with the right people👍🏻

In essence the best motorhome security system. Multiple sirens, multiple deterrents, anti bike theft system, easy to use lifetime guarantee

I’ve had the full system (Growler, Strikeback, MetaTrak, internal sirens, extra LEDs, extra door sensors, outdoor wire) fitted for 6 years now. Not a hiccup. I live of Isle of Wight so regularly forget to disable “Tow Detection” when I board the ferry. Always get a call from the monitoring company. I did have an issue a couple of years ago where I couldn’t switch the alarm on or off with the remote without getting very close to the van. Ash was brilliant and sent me a new unit with instructions of what to do (save me taking it to their depot). Turned out to be nothing to do with their system. It was interference from a separate fitted temp sensor when it’s battery went low. VanBitz never complained. They were truly brilliant. If you try and go inside the van when the growler alarms go off, the different frequencies of the sounders mean you simply cannot stand being in there.

Huge number of extra functions, driving score, locate my van map, remote immobilizer etc etc.

I have had one fitted and it has three times saved intrusions to the van as they go off of the van is tampered with, each time scratch marks left where attempt made, people don’t know what is inside until they get there, better and cheaper to stop them before they do

Is Eddie's photo Thatcham approved ?

Specifically designed for motorhomes.
Allegedly the internal sounder will burst eardrums.

Vanbitz don't fit car alarms.
What you DONT want to do is wedge yourself in between the two front seats ( changing Ducato engine battery ) and accidentally press the alarm set button on the keyfob that’s in your pocket!
I couldn’t hear anything for about 10 minutes after I got out.
I learnt a very valuable lesson that day.
