Noticed water appears to be coming up from the floor of my cab floor Fiat Ducato ? Could it be an air con fault its been warm in France this week ?

Not sure where the heater matrix is on a Ducato, but a leak from that is the usual cause of wet front carpets in a vehicle if there's no obvious external leak.

Not by accident switched your aircon to recycling as that can do it, condensation on the unit drips onto the floor I've had it in cars.

It could be the condensate drain if the ac was used a lot. I’m not sure where the ac drain is on these. I assume you had no rain before the water? It would take a lot of ac running to completely soak the floor. How near is your water storage tank?

If the water is clear it could be that the aircon condensation drain pipe is blocked or broken.

Have you had a lot of heavy rain? Is it coming in from the air intake for the heater under the bonnet, again due to blocked drainage?

If it is not clear it could be coolant leaking from the heater radiator, check your coolant level. More likely to be one of the former as heater radiator failure is not common on these vans.

If it was the heater matrix you would smell a sickly sweet smell, and the coolant level will be dropping.

I had a Frankia TAG previously with a double floor and the shower drain pipe came away from the plug under the shower tray in more than one occasion and flooded the floor…..that was 1 issue over dozens resulting in the dealer taking it back of my hands (it wasn’t a new van). But as you say this sounds more to do with your AC.

I will explore this, it could be, we’ve had a warm two weeks round Normandy

I‘ d read that on some peoples van when they fill with water it overwhelms the filler neck and water runs through the floor. Just something else worth a check.

I don’t know, had it checked and re-gassed not long since.

Should be a switch with the controls that selects external air or recycling.

Slide switch at the bottom in this pic.
