You can park in Westward Ho carpark in North Devon overnight but read the signs.

So that will be 2 bays for us then, but how much would that cost?
Then we leave a 6 mtr gap, only to discover a car or two has parked between us.
Would it not have been less trouble to mark out bays for motor homes, or would that take up too much space, I wonder.
The SW is not a friendly place to park at the best of times, every car park has restrictions or ridiculous charges.
Thanks for posting though.

Which car park? We normally park behind the rock wall to the north of westward ho.

Cheers James

Apart from the cost of doing so it would reduce the flexibility of having more spaces for parking cars during most of the time that the car park operates.

The sign says 6PM to 10AM, not too many surfers out at that time of night,;) and if its the one I think it is, its pretty long so maybe not impossible to have it clearly marked "overnight parking space for motor homes"
Just a thought, be interesting to see how many use it overnight.

The point is that bay markings are permanent so larger bays designed for motorhomes overnight are still larger bays during the day, reducing the number of overall parking spaces :)

Thanks for this info. What car park is it please or does it apply to all car parks in the area?
It is all car parks that come under Torrington. Westward ho, Bideford, torrington, etc.
used to be £5 for the night. What always amused me was when using the one in Bideford it was £5 overnight for motorhome parking but HGV's could park for £2?

Yes, it's all the ones in Torridge Council area.

I think the one at Appledore is more expensive though!

Of all the places to visit in Devon, why would one like to visit westward ho? 🤷🏻‍♂️👀

Nice beach, when the tide's out.

Oldest golf course in England.

Decent waves if you like to surf a bit.
+ nice coast path, open salt water pool, rock pools for the kids, pubs for mum and dad…….and you know you won’t bump into Dutch 68.
