I'm a bit confused with the changes last year that were then reversed. Anything in this budget? Was the current rate and what about new motorhomes over £40K?

Not heard anything but not the sort of things that makes headlines, you will need to read the full budget report.

OK - to answer my own question - taken from the Budget document:

2.87 Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) – The government will uprate VED rates for cars, vans and
motorcycles in line with RPI from 1 April 2021.

So I guess that's £270* plus inflation.

*From what I recall it was £270 last year?

I'm sure that was revoked and normal rates apply.... £220 or similar.
It was quickly revoked but if you had bought one when it was in place. Too bad, no refund and still about £500 a year for the first 5 years

I'm assuming it is this bit that applies now (plus inflation increase of 3% for next year I think I read somewhere)

Other vehicle tax rates
Light goods vehicles (TC39)
Registered on or after 1 March 2001 and not over 3,500kg revenue weight (also known as maximum or gross vehicle weight).

Single 12 month payment - £265

I thought it was £270.
They did say last year when they resended the luxury vehicle tax they said fron April 5th this year VED would be based on emissions rather than a fixed rate.
So if it happens VED on new vans will be a lot higher but you won't get clobbered for the luxury vehicle tax.

My 2020 registered panel van conversion, body type 'Motorhome' - 3500kg MGW - Private Light Goods (PLG) - 2200cc - TC11 is £270 pa.

The difference is the engine size category, vehs up to 1549cc are £165 pa, over 1549cc are £270 pa

Plus of course, the first registration fee of £55.

I believe they then scrapped the plan to base it on emissions and went back to PLG tax rates - some info here...

Sorry- messed up the quoting on that post.

Our moho is a 2001 Mercedes Hymer B680 2.1 PHG 4600 Kg diesel and in September 2020 the tax was £165.00 and has been all the time we’ve owned it

That is about the current tax year if you look at my post I was saying what may happen after April the 5th, which is the next tax year.

The suggestion in this from a thread on the 'outandaboutlive' forum is that it was intended to come in April 2021 but then they changed their minds (back in 2020). I think that is why there is confusion. As far I as I can tell they will not be going to a emissions graduted tax at all but just sticking to the PLG tax as pjay said previously....
