Thinking of travelling out next week, wondered what the uptake is in welsh campsites for pet friendly places?

Touring parks For motorhomes and caravans and statics (no tents) open in wales today. You have to be self contained as no toilet blocks will be open on sites. On 25th of this month camp sites (tents) will be opening. Most places you have to book but I am sure this will change. There not going to turn away business. Happy travels. (y)

I was looking at a site on Anglesey that I've used in the past.. they quoted £30 a nite but no shower or toilet facilities..thats mid Aug
I thought that was a bit steep but might just be me..

Barmouth, good walk into town. North Wales opens today, No toilet blocks are allowed open yet though. And as above doesn’t look as though a reduction in pricing either.
I like Barmouth but not the campsite, down a hole with
No view and next to the railwayline.

My preference is Shell island huge open spaces, no pegs, great views

I live near Saundersfoot and Tenby. Tonnes of MH and caravans passing through the county so there must be a number of sites open. Weather not too good at present and many pubs and restaurants are still closed. West is best!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Brill Movan, some lovely piccies, I see it was in 2015, what time of year though please? Based on those may give it another go. It was height of the summer when we went last, it was awful, like I say feral.

I've been in summer (hope I behaved:)) The beauty of shell island is that there is 100?? Acres of space, so you can stay away from anyone .

Shell Island or Hell Island as we call it is horrendous in the school holidays/bank holidays.

Saying that, if it’s not busy it’s fantastic and has cracking views over the Llyn Peninsula.

Lovely site at Harlech...nice walk thought the golf course to lovely beaches.

Sadly, Shell island have just made an announcement that they are not opening up in 2020 due to Covid and keeping everyone safe.

Check out Pembrey, either the Caravan and Motorhome Club Site or the one within the Country Park; both are pet friendly. There is plenty to see and do there with many, many miles of beach most of which is dog friendly; miles of natural dunes and mile upon mile of forestry walks; plus the Millennial Coastal path to Llanelli and beyond.

Ha ha, I had discovered that once. Won't make that mistake again in a hurry.
Sorry, forgot to quote.
I was referring janines comment about shell island being feral🙂

Hell island indeed.
I have a memory of flat back trucks racing down the road between the pitches , carrying kids on the back😱

In the end I had a big change of plan and had to find a b & b as motorhome off the road , but went to cardigan bay near Aberaeron. Beautiful. Some of the views in the area

Lovely at a Shell Island but I believe they’re closed this year
