We are hoping to be in the tunnel tomorrow afternoon, two years after we last should have been.
Havnt said much about it as it's been a long, shall we, shan't we but we have bit the bullet and we are off in the morning.
No plans at all after a night at gravelines ;) then somewhere down the coast to see where we get to.
Only 10 days, this one as it's had to fit in around lots of stuff but if it works out we shall hopefully be doing a month in September.
Will keep you informed but I don't suppose anyone's interested where we are. (y) (y) (y) (y) :giggle:

we are in a similar situation, leaving tomorrow for our first venture across after being put on hold at first lockdown. although our shuttle is not until Thursday.

the weather is going to be glorious next weekend so we are going to make a run to the Tours area of the river Cher ( no booking as not decided on a stop off as yet ) for the weekend, to get us in the mood, then who knows.

enjoy your trip.

Phil, do you know Villandry ?
Not far from Tours. Well worth a visit.
Lovely traffic free cycle path along the Cher fro Tours to Villandry.

Similar but we took a chance a while back and booked a "cheap" ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam. Today it would be more than twice the cost.

I do hope you are going for a steak whilst in Gravelines !!!.

Enjoy your trip.

It will be quite a change for us as it will be our first real trip since losing our 14 year old, working cocker spaniel, Merlin 8 weeks ago. I am sure we will enjoy the trip but i am also sure there will be a few moments of reflection.

You won’t be far away from us then.

We are heading to an ACSI site at Loches tomorrow for a few days to visit the market there on Wednesday.

Enjoy your trip.

We have been in France for 2 weeks. We have only seen 1 other U.K. reg Motorhome. we are making use of the Camping Car sites as we want electricity available to keep Jacques cool. We are at Soubise today, 32C in the Motorhome and 28 outside. The pup is a bit confused waking up to new faces and places each morning. We are half way to a passport for him, the iCAD application is in, we are having it posted to a friend in France, hopefully it will arrive before we travel home.

We are in week five of a trip to Spain and France.

Since entering France we have mainly used CAMING-CAR Park Aires too. Found some great ones and a couple of not so great. In February we had a two week break in Brittany using CAMPING-CAR Park Aireas exclusively.

We think they are a great resource.

Enjoy your trip.

Happy travels. (y)

This thread is making us very jealous, but we hope you people will enjoy your trips.

We are held back for medical reasons, nothing serious just two successful eye cataract operations ,but which require a waiting period before new glasses, so we cannot get away till early June. Then it is Provence, which will require three long boring M/way journeys to get into France, but with two stopovers with good restaurants that we know which we have contacted and are still open.

On the map the route from Katowice to say Annecy looks more direct through Czech Rep, but with the M/way going N-S-N and stopping for M/Way card I still think route via Dresden-Nuernberg is better. We may do the last bit through Switzerland - not expensive for a 10-day card for >3.5t.

I realise that I am writing this for me - for something to look forward to, and to take my mind off those people heading to Greece, reminding me of last year's trip.

Bon Voyage everybody.

Geoff
