Hi,

Does anyone know what the weight for the following kits -

  • VB Semi Air suspension (rear)
  • VB Self levelling kit
Trying to get a feel of what weight would be added by the above (already know about the cost :lipssealed:)

Mike

A semi-air kit (for a Fiat chassis) is probably less than 5kg. Maybe a couple of kg more if you have a compressor.

A full air kit.... no idea. Doesn't a load of kit get removed like the leaf springs?

The self levelling kit (not full air) I heard was quite heavy.

But thanks for the feedback on the semi air weight.

I have a feeling that for semi-air (on an Alko chassis) it was about 35-40kgs. Uprating a light Alko chassis from a current maximum 2000kgs axle load to 2250kgs would have reduced it by that amount straightaway so decided to try and manage within 3500kg gross weight as far as possible. Not easy towing a trailer with noseweight adding disproportionately to axle loading - meant putting the motorhome spare wheel on the trailer and some judicious positioning of the trailer spare to get something reasonable.
