I know there will be nay-sayers but I found W3W really useful today!

My favourite carpark in Shrewsbury was full today so I took to the back lanes to find somewhere to park.

So that I could find my way back to it, I pinned the location on W3W and followed the route back on Google maps.

I'm a great fan of W3W, but I'm sure your post will create some "discussion"! :giggle:

The fire service were using it before I retired as were the ambulance service. It’s easy to use by anyone with a smartphone anywhere on the planet. No need for maps, compasses or the knowledge to use them.
Yes, there will be those on here decrying W3W just because they can read a map, use grid refs etc.
Many can’t and W3W for them could be a life saver.

I love it. I don't think chaser does. And someone I can't remember thinks a coordinate is easier to remember. Each to their own hey?? Makes the world go round.

I have tried to keep out of arguments on here lately, it's all been said before, same as the dog one in another place on here.

As above, or find it on the W3W map. Touch it and you will see the W3W for that 3m square. Touch navigate and away you go. If I can do this anyone can.

You don't need to type anything. Tap a point on the map, and the 3 words are displayed. Press "Share" and select email or WhatsApp etc and then Send.
I understand that I was thinking if you have to relay it to someone who is using a land-line.
