baily compact
We have a baily compact with a drop down bed which has stopped working how do we drop it down manually

Unsure if it is the same as the one in our Pilote but if it is I think the nut on the back of the motor can be used to manually move the bed.
Last time ours stopped though it was the microswitch that jammed closed so the bed thought it was all the way up and refused to budge.

This may help:

Electric Up Bed Fault Finding 765 / 540 Trouble Shooting Q Bed stopped working A Check 10 amp AUX fuse in main PDU Q Bed stopped working but relays are clicking from in the locker A Check the main fuse (located n/s front bunk behind drop down door on 540 or behind PDU on 765) NOTE: The fuse can fail due to a resistance when the bed is being operated, this is for personal safety & ceiling protection if misused Q The bed operates very slowly & internal lights flicker A Check battery voltage & condition ( would suggest spare battery if going to sites with no 230v hook up ) Q The bed gets very slow when operating & close to ceiling A The drive belts to drive shaft increase in size which in turn changes the gearing (reducing the weight from the bed or lockers where possible, this can help) Q The bed blows the main fuse before hitting the auto stop A Check for any interference which can cause a resistance around bed, may req adjustment to rail stops to compensate if caused by bedding to ceiling Q The bed mechanism is noisy A Lub points - rollers in guide rails / main shaft end bearing (located behind locker infills) & belt guide rollers (strap entry to bed base behind locker infills)Field Repairs Fault The bed operates in one direction only Possible Cause Micro / auto stop switch stuck at rear of bed Temp Repair Remove locker infill panel to gain access to switch connectors - Swop the grey & white 2 way connectors, if the fault is now in reverse a switch is faulty. The bed is ok to be operated BUT there is no longer a auto stop in place so stop manually & DONOT over ride as this will damage the mechanism Repair to be carried out as soon as possible & remember to connect the switches correctly. Note that the colours can alter dependant to set up.. Fault The bed does not operate & all the fuses are ok Possible Cause Micro / auto stop switch stuck at rear of bed Temp Repair Remove locker infill panel to gain access to switch connectors - Swop the grey & white 2 way connectors, if the fault is now in reverse a switch is faulty.
