Why not pop up and see uncle Jim at Jasmine?
That's a long run from anywhere in Suffolk. Up past Kings Lynn, Boston etc. Worth the trip though, Sutton on Sea is lovely.

Felixstowe is worth a look. Peewit caravan site is at the docks end, 10 minutes walk from the sea front, and then you can walk through length of the prom which must be about 3 miles.

Only downside is that the docks work 24 x 7 and if they drop a container it makes a lot of noise.

There is a viewing point up at Land guard point, plus a nature reserve the old fort and a museum. All easily walkable. Choice of the Dooley or the Dolphin in easy walking distance.

Someone told me they had stopped MH parking at Land Guard Point Carpark.
Has anyone been down there lately? 🤔

Must park within the white lines.. max 5.5m .. pay by phone

Campervans and motorhomes (also referred to as motor caravans) that exceed 5.5m in length are permitted in only twelve East Suffolk managed car parks. However, these vehicles must not exceed 8m in length.

We visited two summers ago. I'd echo the comments re-

Aldebrugh
Southwold
Orford and Orford Ness
Woodbridge / Sutton Hoo

All interesting and attractive places to visit. We mainly used free park-ups, and the occasional CL.

we live in Alderton, a village near Woodbridge on the coast

Aldeburgh ... full of tourists and London snobs .. they hate motorhomes

Southwold ... ditto .. but has a decent beach .. and good carpark by the pier

Orford .. other than the castle tower, not much to see .. no motorhome parking..

Woodbridge ..yes, an interesting town with a nice riverfront, good mix of independent shops and cafe's .. and you can park a motorhome at the Deben Centre carpark

Sutton Hoo.. an interesting site , easy parking ..best part is the nice walk along the Deben

Felixtowe is probably the best place to visit ..lots to see and do.. motorhome parking at Cliff Rd Car park .. also on the promenade if you fit a carpark space.
Campsite near the centre.

I would also add

Bawdsey Quay .. free, but a 4 hour limit and no overnight parking, which is not adhered to .. but it gets packed out on weekends and B/Hs .. need to get there early to bag a space. Small sandy beach and some lovely walking ..foot ferry to Old Felixstowe.. can also take bicycles, which makes nice day out.

Dunwich beach car park (free) but no overnighting .. cafe and pub, there is a church with a field opposite that allows overnight stays ..it's listed in S4S ..Interesting Abbey ruins to visit with a nice walk along the cliffs.
