East Neuk Fifer S
Exp
I'm a newbie
After a few years of looking, we have finally grasped the nettle.

Just before Christmas I saw a Fifer Touring S for sale at East Neuk Campervans in Anstruther. We booked a hotel for a couple of nights and headed North (about 425 miles North)

I have to say, as a buying experience, it was second to none. Dave and Darren were so welcoming and helpful. No hard sell, take as much time as you need. After agreeing a price, Darren said he had to change the solar panel for a new one as he wasn’t happy with it. Dave drove my wife into town to buy the road tax and before leaving he gave us a kettle and melamine crockery set so we could have a cuppa on the long road South.

On the drive home there was not a creak or a rattle from the conversion, a testament to the quality of their workmanship.

Darren even said come back at MOT time and we will do it for free.

My brother has a Touring L and is very happy with it. Great build quality. :)

Nice one, hope you have many happy years of adventures together:giggle:

Enjoy.

Happy travels, now where’s the pics. (y)

Welcome and enjoy:welcome4:

We had a Fifer M, wonderful van, great family firm. They really couldn’t do too much for their customers. Not a rattle in the van either.

Congratulations.
We’ve just bought a 2012 Fifer Touring S and will be collecting it from the dealer in a couple of weeks time. We’ve no time to get it before then sadly. Looking forward to working out where to store everything- any tips will be appreciated.

We went up to East Neuk Campervans 18 months ago to look at the Fifer L and although we loved it we didn't get it as we changed our mind about the length we wanted and weren't so keen on the layout of the Fifer M - we found Darren great to talk to and we spent a long time looking, there was absolutely no hard sell.

Glad you've found your van - let the pleasure begin!

Was this the van White Arches had for sale? We had a look at it and it was a nice van but it didn’t have air con but we loved the size and layout so it was worth the trip north. We haven’t used the van yet but are planning a short trip soon.

The Fifer M was our preference but the S layout is pretty much identical but in a shorter vehicle. We were not too sure about the kitchen pod across the van but it seems to work as you can still access the cab. They did have a used Fifer M, which was a bespoke build for sale a few months ago. This had swivel cab seats and the kitchen along the side of the van. This would be our preference if we ever changed

No, not that one.
Have you worked out where to put everything yet?

:pink: I was looking at Touring S on their website at few weeks ago. It's still on site is it yours?
Fancied it myself.;)

Congrats on your van. We too spent two years asking daft questions on here, looking around dealers and shows and reading everything we could lay our hands on before we jumped in! We'd been told that many folk don't find the right layout till their third van! We're 100% certain we've got the right layout. We've had no issues except that the fridge wouldn't stay on while on gas. It was soon sorted with a return visit to the dealers workshop. Not another single niggle in 18 months of use, very pleased, wouldn't change a thing. Hope your van gives you as much pleasure as ours has done. (y)

We went away for a couple of nights. Not too far. Just to get the hang of things. For such a small van storage was plentiful. One locker each for clothes. Bedding etc over the cab. Kitchen utensils in the locker under the oven. Coats in the wardrobe. Crockery, cutlery and foodstuffs in overdoor locker and hookup cable etc under the seats and still one locker free. I am sure that this will be fine tuned as we go on and take more stuff.

We got on OK. I am pleasantly surprised with the Ducato base. Ok ,it is a van but the seats are comfortable and cruising in sixth, it is quite refined. The cab has aircon, electric folding mirrors and leather SW.

The only issues we had were with the hot water and heating on Hook-up. It seemed to be trying to work but didn't quite get there. I think maybe it was operator error, as it worked fine on viewing. I shall give them a call. On diesel it was fine.

Trust that you get on well when you get yours. Any advice/hints/tips welcomed.

Glad you’ve tested your van out. Sure you’ll get the heating sorted.
Not picked ours up yet but not long til we do now.:giggle:

Well we picked up our Fifer Touring S van about 2 weeks ago. Haven’t yet had time to get away in it but have slept in it at home!
Now wondering how best to stash our crockery in the overdoor locker which seems so huge. Concerned that things will rattle around too much.
Any tips?
