Help please - - Hymer TCL698 Tramp... Getting ready for travels following been winterised & fully drained down.
Water pump is just humming and water trickling out of both taps and shower. Do you think the pump has gone ? If so are they easy to change ?

I would think there will have been a little bit of water in the pump. It happened to me a while back I bought something similar to this.
Most caravan / Motorhome sales companies will stock them or something similar

Make sure your drains and frost valve is closed. Put a couple of dozen litres in. It'll take a couple of minutes for the air to be purged out.

That will be the frost valve on the boiler, normally up for on.

Guigsy : … Frost valve closed … Half filled the tank - switched on pump - opened taps …..
water trickled out and pump was humming but much quieter than normal
.. do you think it is an airlock ? 🤨 perhaps will try again tomorrow- let it run for longer to see if it clears

Takes a good few minutes to purge the air out of the system when that frost valve has actuated, was the frost valve open?

Frost Valve was open whilst winterised … closed the valve then filled fresh water tank 50% - that’s when I noticed we had probs

Will give it a go tomorrow
Thanks to all for you replies 🙏🤞

Update : switched on pump started to quietly hum ( not like normal sound )
left it for few minutes .. had my head down looking and noticed a warmth- traced it to electric connector from pump - wires at connection felt warm .. so switched off pump. Assume pump struggling and knackered …
so looks like maybe new pump required …

Idiots guide please on how to replace water pump
took images of what it looks like inside and on top - tried to unscrew the blue ring - pipe on right side too short to allow any give to remove the unit

Posted under Hymer group too - so apologises if you reading it twice

Update: Followed Stealaway's advice -awkward little task but finally did it (not much room ) ..... Many Thanks
Then followed Lynnian's advice gave the impeller on the pump a tickle with a small screwdriver ... Many Thanks
Reconnected all - crossed fingers, flicked on main pump switch then turned kitchen tap on ...Hooray, water running .. slight splutter ! pump making a noise - switched on bathroom tap then shower --- all good. BUT .....................
now the pump keeps running
What have I done wrong ????

Brilliant that you have it running again, one of my Hymers worked on sensing the pressure drop in the water system and the other had little microswitches in the taps to turn the pump on.

So it would seem that something is turning the pump on.

Will take a look tomorrow - need a glass of wine tonight :wine:
Thanks to all who sent advice ... least it's working - just too much :rolleyes:
