Morning all, my self build currently has a submersable water pump in a container under the sink but I have recently been given a tank to fit underneath, obviously this needs an inline pump and I was wondering which pump people are using.
TIA Paul.

A Shurflo Trail King will probably be your best bet.

Why not continue using the submersible or get another one. Submersibles are much quieter than inline pumps and can be just as powerful. Our 7.5m Hymer A class uses a submersible for basin, sink, shower and toilet.

Is it feasible to use a submersible in an external tank? Its not something I've heard of before as I thought these systems used the Shurflo Trail King type pumps. If the tank was externally mounted with a submersible pump in it, if it went kaput you'd need to drop the tank to get at it.

I'm wondering if the OP has to put the tank underneath or could it go inside, also if there is room underneath to mount it, drill holes for the pies etc?

I had assumed that tanks, internal or external, always have some form of sealed access hatch, be it on the top, side or bottom. Necessary for occasional inspection and cleaning I would have thought.

Can't say I've look at a MH's 'tummy' that often to check, but I have heard of people having to drop tanks before now to get inside them as the only hatch was on the top.

Well strictly speaking the tanks in our Hymer are mounted underneath the floor between the two main chassis members. They are in a sealed and heated enclosure and we access them through a large hole cut in the double floor which exposes both the large access hatch and the smaller hatch through which the submersible pump is mounted.

Our Shure died a death and was replaced with one of the new(ish) Whale in lines.. Been working really well and I 'THJINK' it is a bit quieter than the Shure though there is little in it

The reason for changing is mainly to free up space within the van, but maybe I could fit the existing water container and submersible pump in the garage are at the back, not sure if the pump would push the water that far ( probably 2.5m)
