Come to Germany! It's great for motorhoming/van life.
The water pump in our van has stopped working. Needless to say, this is rather inconvenient, to say the least. I had a fish around and found out that in the tank there's an "uptake" device with "Ocean" 12V DC, 21 liters per minute, 15 bar, and E1 10R-058103 written on it. Whether there's something wrong with this, I have no idea. The green light on the inside control panel, meaning "pump on" is working as usual. Water in the kitchen simply stopped running and thee's no sign of life from either of the taps or the shower. Any advice much appreciated. We are in rural Germany - enormously beautiful forests here but better enjoyed with water supply.

Make and model of van would help as a start, but from what you say it's a submersible pump. Sorry know nothing about them but with the info requested someone will be able to help you out shortly.

Open the kitchen tap then leaving that open turn on another tap and check the kitchen again, you may be surprised.
It sounds like the kitchen tap microswitch has failed.

I have a feeling the Ocean is a model of submersible pump made by Comet. I think the rating is 21l at 1.5 bar, not 15 bar. Comet are made in Germany and should be readily available there. We got our replacement in the UK from Amazon.
Hope this helps

If my guess about your pump being a Comet Ocean, this is the link to the manufacturers site, English version.

Good luck!

As a temporary measure, any submersible pump with a flow rate of about 20 litres per minute and a pressure rating of about 1.5 bar will get the water flowing. You can buy the exact replacement at a later date and keep the temporary one as a spare. Or maybe, like me, decide that it's actually quite adequate, and leave it to do its job.

Be careful of wiring polarity. Some German vehicles use brown for earth and blue for positive, but pumps are often brown for positive and blue for negative. Double check.

Thank you very much for this help. Sorry not to have replied sooner: membership ran out, then other things.

The pump was broken and a new one has been fitted (under guarantee). I was somewhat surprised about this, given that the vehicle was new in August 2019. The pump surface was somewhat uneven, distorted, and the repairer asked whether we might have been leaving taps open with an empty tank. I said I didn't think so.

Since I didn't think the info would be helpful, I didn't mention the make/model of our vehicle. It's a Burow Oman (cabin built onto a Ford Ranger), made in Germany.

Thanks for reporting back, it's always nice to know if we've been helpful. Surprising how many don't.

That's a nice looking beastie - just had a look at a Utube video.
