I’m a newbie
Leaving for Spain next week driving down through France, will the water on the Aires be on or is it hit and miss. Thanks

Follow Tonka's route should be ok but not much about in Spain. Buy in drinking water and for washing etc you can usually get on the beach.

We drove down western France to Northern Spain and across to Portugal a couple of weeks ago, currently just over the Pyrenees back in France. We had no trouble getting water anywhere except one aire near San Sebastián that had the services turned off due to damage.
Haven’t seen any water taps turned off this year.

We have found lot off in France so I would fill up when I could. Also check and comment on park4night if water available or not.

Not much water turned on in France this time of year, one we found was at Montguyon but Spain we had no problems in the past. Always water on at Vitoria Gasteiz, Palencia and Caceres

We left the UK last Thursday stopped at 4 Aires in France only 1 had the water turned on. We always travel with a full tank so not a problem.

On the ferry as we speak and on route to Benidorm. We always run with a full tank of 100ltr so never need any while on route.
Going to be hit and miss really. There is a good stop south of Angouleme at roulette, often the tap is just turned off on the stop cock which you can turn on / off.
If an issue then lots of cheap water in the supermarkets to get you by.

I dont know if the cemetaries turn off their water over winter or not.
Have seen the french use this water supply as a free option.

Info not provided as a normal alternative but if you are absolutely stuck
