Waste bin in hab door

The small semi-circular waste bin inset into the hab door of our 2015 Coral+670 is worse than useless, and has been known to distort the fly screen if the wind catches the door (though I have now replaced the worn catch).
I'd love to remove it, but can see no obvious fixings, and I'm a bit nervous about seeing whether it is a 'pop' fit in case I break something.

Can anybody offer any insights?
