We have a 2012/2013 Hymer Exsis-i 562. The upholstery is a suede like material; pretty sure it's not real suede. Is it OK to put these in the washing machine on say a 30 degrees wash? Thanks

Not familiar with this type of fabric but anything that is risky to wash would only use cold water gentle (wool or delicates) wash & a delicates laundry liquid at most. If very dirty maybe add a white e-cloth or similar to the wash load for improved cleaning action & keep the loads small. Ideally wash one small item first to check it isn't harmed by washing & no shrinkage but sure most would do that anyway. Had good results with caravan upholstery before but that was woven fabric. Hopefully someone on here will have washed suede like material before so can offer more informed advice.

Our last Hymer had that type of material, I'm not sure I would want to risk washing it. Dry cleaning may be a better option. Or you could try steam cleaning it.

Would that be Alcantara. Have you tried a "magic sponge"?

Take the covers to a reputable Dry Cleaners..... they will know what the exact material is and clean to suit.. (y)

We have that material as well. Our mechanic put a grease mark on the passenger seat (rare accident he is usually very careful. Swmbo gave him a ring and he sent round his neice within 30mins with a 'magic spray' which removed it instantly. I dont know what it was as it had been repacked from a bulk psck and wasnt labelled.

We have beige suedette which was so filthy it almost put us off buying the van. Mousy gave us some ‘elbow grease’ spray, which we did a test clean on. It worked brilliantly so we bought about 4 spray bottles. You can buy it from most cheap stores.

It’s absolutely brilliant. We cleaned our whole lot - the covers stayed on the cushions, then we sprayed them all with Scotchguard, and the van has been transformed!

I washed ours seat covers a couple at a time on wool wash and they were fine.
You should be able to tell from the looking at the back of the fabric if is real suede most fabrics that look like suede are a microfibre type cloth.(also, the pile wears off real suede on edges and corners leaving smooth bits).
Always air dry them and put back on cushions while very slightly damp to reshape.
