those of you who have a “home style” washing machine in your MH, are you locking the drum with those “transport” bolts while you travel? Or you just don’t care? Currently I remove them every time I use the washing machine then I put them back. Since it’s a job I do every week or every 10 days, it doesn’t bother me that much, nevertheless if I can spare some minutes of my life… I would.

I can go back fifty three years with this issue with front-loading automatic washing machines. Always plenty of warnings but have moved so many with them not in place, I suspect you would need to really subject the machine to severe acceleration and deceleration to cause an issue. If you think about it for a minute, when you have it go into a spin with an off balance load, and the way they jump about the floor and occasionally bang the drum onto the cabinet, then if it's a real issue, most of us would be replacing the machine frequently. However, if it's under warranty, I would not risk it. It also depends how it is travelling. Front to back movement is I suggest more likely to cause an issue than side to side as the internal suspension is designed to operate in that direction.

Please don't take this as gospel though. Simply based on knowledge of how these are put together.

I've never understood what the bolts are meant to achieve anyway? On a machine designed to have a drum that bounces around and spins at high speed?
If you think about it they stop it moving front to back as they screw in from the rear,.

They stop the drum moving up, and off the springs/dampers.

Really not needed unless you are turning the machine upside down, or laying it over on side.
