Please, please be aware that there is a particularly nasty piece of work out there whose current MO is copying Autotrader ads then posting on ebay at prices to good to be true. Unfortunately our police service is inept in that they do not even answer 101 and when they do it's an ebay problem - you try speaking to a human there also. You could try www.actionfraud.police.uk as well but they do not actually investigate either!

see the two adverts - the first is genuine on Autotrader the second is fraudulent on ebay

You can't contact them direct, you have to go through such as Citizens Advice, if they think it's a suitable route to take.
It will never stop happening no matter how often you complain.

Yes been going on for years!I saw a Buccaneer Caravel on EBay at about £5k less than going price!Went after it!Reply said he was a Frenchman who had been working in the Uk and had bought for use in the Uk but now he was back in France it being a RHD was a problem!I replied that it was the model I wanted and I could get a flight to France the next day to buy it😊He replied that it was at the “shippers”ready to go back to the UK!If after paying £2k deposit I wasn’t happy with it he would give me my money back!I wasn’t born yesterday! All the details and pics had been copied off a UK dealers!

It can be quite entertaining the lies they tell , and how they struggle to come up with excuses as to why you or "your brother who lives just down the road" cant come and look at the vehicle . I managed to get a successful prosecution for attempt fraud about 15yrs back mainly due to having a visible number plate , and another link to ebay ad with his own ID . His local Police had been after him for quite a while .

Could be good game here . Sort of, all members start ringing , show interest , then a bit more, then pull out . Start a league to see which bargain van , never gets sold .😆😆😆😆

I've reported the seller on ebay - not holding my breath waiting for a reply . . . . .

Just checked the history and not surprisingly it came up as a nil.
