Hello !

We're looking at an alternative to our fixed dining table. It's meant to form the base of an additional bed and never gets used a s such. We're looking for something than can still be used for four diners which folds out from the wall.

Any ideas ?

Thanks !

Anyone ?. i know it's Monday !!

Probably need a bit more information, you can fix a table to the wall by various means but the normal size ones would not be big enough for 4 people, I have seen a freestanding folding table normally found in caravans used but you then need a storage space for it. Have a look at Magnums motorhome website for ideas.

Take a look at rainbow conversions on ebay, they can make a suitable folding table at good prices

Thanks ! I've been looking at Rainbow Conversions and it's the best I've seen SO FAR

Is that all there is ??

Looking for something to fix to the wall. Mine has a post that bolts to the floor that I want to remove.

I've seen sliding table rail kits (Magnums) but I'd like a complete solution with table top. Maybe Rainbow is the best and only provider ?

If you want to pay out bigger money, there is a teak table specialist who make various tables for vans and boats. What you will find though is the wall that the table is mounted to is pretty weak and not able to accept and support anything too heavy

Yes you're right there. It's got to to be super lightweight and it's got to be narrow too so it fits between the two pairs of lounge seats

Not sure what your exact requirements are, but my converter did this, all fittings easily available : (sorry had to use existing images as it's raining here at the mo)

You can just make out the fittings

My other table (fold out leg) fits on this rail - rail could be wall mounted (table secured at side of cabinet)

I created something similar, but not wall mounted, after many revisions. But can be removed and stored. Really only suitable for two and not that substantial but does for what we need. I turned the original (and very heavy) table into a folding/free-standing type with legs from flea bay but it weighs a ton and is only used when we have "guests", in fact most of the time it is in the shed at home!.
You will probably have a 3”hole in the floor when you take out you post we did
No hole in mine? (Rapido). (y)

BTW. I reckon the Table I removed with its Fittings Must have weighed in excess of 20 or more Kg

Fold up but my main focus now is talking SWMBO into seeing sense and leaving well alone.

I think I'll suggest this to her and see what happens !
