My uncle is in his 80's now and uses a walking stick. However, he often leaves it at home because it gets in the way so my aunt suggested he could do with a folding version as it takes up less room. As I had a single walking pole I made a walking stick handle for it.... Think that will do what he needs. A quick twist and you can adjust the length....

I carry a long walking pole with a shepherds hook (leg cleet) on it in the mh. So useful for many things such as retrieving objects that are out of reach at the front of the drop down bed, hooking dog collars, picking high fruit and can be used as a hiking stave too.
