VW T4 double battery tray (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know where I might get a tray that will fit my T4. The leisure battery sits alonside the main vehicle battery and the tray is 30cm x 39cm approx. I have looked on ebay and amazon with no luch and the T4 forum is no use either. Any ideas?

See if your local Sheet Metal fella can knock you up one, or, go to a kitchen ware/Catering Wholesale Equipment place and see if there is a Plastic tray that will fit or can be adapted.

I did that modification way back in 2005 and had the stainless tray made up by a friend following on from that someone else made the trays and sold them via the T4 Forum and Autosleepers made a similar adaption when they moved their leisure battery position from the rear to under the bonnet.

Here's a picture of the tray that I had made...

Battery clamping was achieved with a long hooked rod through the centre oblong hole with a spreader block at the top of the batteries and a thumb screw to tighten them down.

VW Heritage and VW Campers both used to sell them, around £35 I think I was for mine !!
