Hi, after reading post that this would be required to watch the iplayer in France I can say you don't need it, which is just as well as it failed to log on at any time to any server. Just been on the web chat facility waiting on hold for ever to ask for an explanation, and yes wait wait wait wait, don't bother, £36 wasted.

If you have a UK purchased sim card you don't need a VPN to watch iPlayer. AFAIK this has always been the case

I have never felt the need for a VPN for any use but that's a different argument.
