Hello All,

I have completed my Solar install. Panels on the roof, controller fitted etc etc.
I have the light on the controller illuminated saying it’s charging but all I get out of the display is battery voltage and nothing else.

Do you mean you have connected the solar computer by it's dedicated cable to the controller, you should be able to scroll through the different displays, amps, total amps, watts, total watts and voltage,

Martin

When I had one it was just a matter of scrolling up or down with the arrows 🔼🔽.

Hi Martin,

Yes, connected on the supplied lead and showing battery voltage but the watts/amps etc are just zero. Reading through the manual I should get a sun too.
Very strange.

Silly suggestions probably,

Have you set the Votronic controller to 12v battery?
Have you connected the Votronic controller to the leisure battery?
Is the fuse to the leisure battery OK?
Is the battery already fully charged? If so turn on water pump for a minute or two with tap open to reduce that.
Are you on Electric Hook Up?
Is your engine running?

I was on hook up, have now disconnected and on the inverter to run the batteries down but surely I should get a picture of the sun or some kind of reading.

Hi Rob...
Won't matter if on EHU or engine should still show readings...HOWEVER I have just checked my setup and if I isolate the panels from the charger (I have in line isolater) my computer only shows battery voltage, therefore I would suspect your panel is not wired to charger correctly
Ps even with full battery you should have sun symbol and show 0amp and 0watts

I’ll check everything again, cheers.

Here are my findings, I checked panel voltage and battery voltage.

Certainly looks ok.. only other suggestion I have is to disconnect display and reconnect after a few minutes.
If that no worky then sorry I can suggest nothing else

I seem to recall that it is important to connect the battery before the panels and the controller locks up if it is done in the wrong order.

It was all connected up beforehand as I’d done that part of the install a while ago.
If it has locked up, I’m open to suggestions as how to unlock it. 😩

Could try disconnecting the panels and then reconnecting them.

Might also be worth checking the dip switches, make sure they have slid fully into the right positions (not half way).

Sorted it
The votronic extension cable i bought is defective. I have belled it through and there’s open circuit on one of the cores.
Another ordered.

Thanks for all the replies.
