Is driving the Vielha Tunnel road better or the same as the Somport crossing.
Going to France from Spain normally use the Somport someone has suggested going that way as we’re near Amposta so if we go up to Llieda then we could use the N230 up to the Vielha instead of going further over.
We have a 8m MH.
Thanks in Advance

We have used it, it's OK the trucks go through, I think it might have been a bit narrow compared to the Somport but no problem.

The Vielha Tunnel is fine it has two lanes both ways. The Bielsa Tunnel is the narrow one.

The Bielsa Tunnel is the narrow one.
It's controlled by traffic lights and they only allow one way traffic now. Used it for our recent trip both ways much nicer route than the Somport. Very little traffic, French side is quite steep but a nice drive we would certainly go that way again.

What’s the road like going up to it and down from it.

We went through Bielsa Tunnel Wednesday, everything is clear, no problems. Some nice views at the tunnel entrance France side.

I went through the Bielsa about 10 years ago in the RV, luckily only the odd car or two came the other way, so thanks for the info.
