Hi all
I have installed a Victron smartshunt in my elddis 115.
It has 2 x 110ah batteries and the shunt is on the 2nd battery -ve and all the negatives now come off the shunt.
I thought it was working but sitting here now it shows no volts, no amps being used - although we have the tv, lights and heater blower running.
the only think I can this is it’s because we are on hookup, but thought it would read something. Pic attached
Any help appreciated
Rich

If you're on hookup, the 240v transformer will be supplying all your juice. Although I'd still have expected some current flow in if it's charging?

Not sure if it’s related but I have also got a victron100/20 mppt solar controller (also new). It is setup to defaults, and showing the following - this is while we are on EHU as swell so not sure if it is right kr if I need to alter the battery settings - my two 110ah batteries are standard lead acid full sealed ones…

Not right the battery voltage should be the same on both devices, not relative to your problem you do need to make some changes to the Smart Shunt setting the charged voltage should be 14.4v, Charge efficiency probably 85 - 75% & battery capacity needs to reflect the age of the batteries, decrease it by 2.5% per year.
With my BMV I spent over a week tweaking the settings to get it to read accurately on discharge percentage.

On the Smartshunt to voltage looks right if on mains and a float charge but I would expect to see a current reading either positive if charging or negative if discharging.
Have you done a Zero current calibration on it?

Just to clarify this, the shunt has a battery terminal and a load terminal. Both battery negatives (and nothing else) should be connected to the shunt battery terminal. All the other wires, including the ground to chassis if there is one, should be connected to the shunt load terminal.
