If you are not using the load terminals you can leave the jumper off, as I have. Its explained in the manual at para 3.6 below. :)

I’m not good with electronics DBK as you may remember when I recently changed my batteries from 7yr old agm’s to gels because one of them was cooking.

I now have a Bluetooth monitor so I can keep an eye on them, they have been ok since and voltage has been between 12.72 -14.40
Where as when the agm’s boiled my old monitor said a max of 28 volts was going in and this was why a controller was suspected but since testing on the old agms in my shed one has definitely failed and my controllers are behaving But they have not been used in anger yet. I have three 100w panels each with a victron mppt 75/15 controller and I don’t usually plug in EHU.

I have read the manual too and I’m not sure on what the difference in settings would be on the jumpers, when I installed the new batteries and victron bmv 712 monitor I reset everything and synchronised it all and that’s it.
I’ve looked at many videos on them but I don’t get the common description I’m looking for as they go into too much detail and techie stuff?

‘we’re off to Spain after Xmas for 3mths and I don’t really want any problems with while away....
Some screen shots from today....

I would take the jumper out, assuming nothing is attached to the load terminals. If you look at your screen shots it says the batteries haven't had a full charge for 15 days. If you take the jumper out it will use the Battery Life algorithm as described in para 1.4 of the manual. This it claims should ensure the batteries get a full charge at least once a week. It says it does this by altering the voltage the load is disconnected. Now I'm a bit unclear what this means if there is no load to disconnect but I suspect it may not matter and it will carry on trying to give the batteries a full charge anyway.

Can I ask what mystical thing you have fitted that allows you to monitor your batteries.

How do you connect to it.

Im intrigued ?

I’ll give it a try and keep an eye on it..??

I think it says it’s not had a full charge for 15 days because it’s just been sat on the drive and no loads have occurred to drain the batteries..?

indecently, the starter battery reading is the second leisure battery in my two battery set-up...

Like me he has a Victron BVM (Battery voltage monitor). You have to fit a shunt to the negative side of the battery that all your negative connections go through & small cable via a fuse to the positive side to power it.
the BVM712 has Bluetooth included so it can talk to your phone or if you buy the BVM700 you have to buy a separate Bluetooth module, looking at around £200 for the BVM712, the BVM700 about £135 + £45 for the Bluetooth module.

That’s me out, sounds far too complicated.

Ive still got to find the cable that goes to the cab battery in my 12v box of tricks to trickle charge from my MPPT box?
