Hi
We have been led to believe that VE day is widely celebrated- as it should be in UK but we cant even get excited about St George!

We are due to cross the channel just before may 8th and think it may be best book into a campsite for a few days and hopefully enjoy the festiviities?
What have other people found ?, we have sent many winters down south but are usually back in UK at this time of year

We spent last VE day in a small village in France, we walked to the local church about 10 to find that a service was being held, which we were invited to join, followed by a gathering in a nearby hall after a bugle parade and small service at the cemetery.

It was very moving, and everyone was very friendly.

The very young bugler was honestly atrocious but that didn't matter as the pride, spirit and commitment were obvious to see.

Hymie.
