Hi Folks,
Do any of you have a guide price for the kit and install costs of VB-Semiair - rear only? Is so please share. :-)
I have a Merc-based Charisma 2006.
Thanks.

Here is a DIY kit on eBay for pre 2006 there are others post 2006,
If your a good DIYer very easy to fit yourself.

John.

@Neckender
Thank for the thought. yes I could fit it by the looks of it - and I will explore further on ebay. That particular kit seems to be for a single back wheel. I've got two. I don't know what the diference would be...

I recently fitted a kit on my Merc/Hymer, bought it from Airride, made by Dunlop.
Quick and easy fit

From memory we had VB fitted to our Exsis on an Alko chassis and it was around £1600 complete with internal gauges and valve switches and fitted compressor.
We also had EP jacking system at same time.:xThumb:
That was three years ago.

I was £770 fitted in March this year. Additional £300 if gauges and pump required.

Thanks both, but look at the differences!
This includes the kit that replaces the rear leaf springs?

No replacement of leaf springs required :xThumb: Also, not an Alko chassis.

Semi air suspension
VB-SemiAir enables the suspension to be adjusted (manually) within specific limits.
On a vehicle with leaf springs, an air spring is fitted between the chassis and the rear axle. This air spring supports the existing leaf spring.

VB-SemiAir is supplied as a two-chamber system, which means that the air springs are not connected to each other. The use of a dual chamber system allows left and right to be adjusted separately, enabling the vehicle to be levelled, even when it is loaded unevenly.

Benefits of VB-SemiAir:

  • Higher ride height and increased spring travel
  • Improved stability
  • Reduced off-centre level
  • Variable spring force
  • Good value for money
  • 'Plug-and-play' system allows for quick installation
  • The body, equipment and load remain protected against damage
  • Heavy loads are no longer noticeable from the outside
  • Less strain on the shock absorbers

The prices will vary a lot. I’ve been looking into this myself, and there are kits, and there are kits. Especially if you are going for a system with a built in compressor and gauges. Some are really basic looking, and other are a very nice posh set of gauges, and switches.

I started off just wanting basic kit, no pump, or gauges, but now am thinking more towards full system with pump, gauges, and being able to alter from the cab.

On the van we have now we have Golschmitt full air and it’s great it automatically adjusts as driving but has lots of different settings and self levels when on site.:xThumb::xThumb:

As you have a Merc anything from £300 - £500 for a DIY kit. It's the Al-Ko chassis that is expensive currently £1950.

I’m not at that level, excuse the the pun, I’m more thinking, compressor and rear air assist.

But I am envious of your system. Enjoy

we used Rosana in Bolney, West Sussex, for our last vehicle, Hymer B544. Very professional and cost £1100 I sort of recall. Included the internal gauges pump etc. It also made a big difference to the ride.
Just had an estimate for our B SL 674 and because it was an alco frame it was just over £2k. i would not want to fit it but good for them that have.

We had the VB for rear air assist on our Exsis to keep the back more stable when towing the car trailer it worked a treat good luck with whatever you choose and Happy Christmas to you and yours :xgrin::xgrin::xgrin:

I quickly learnt that all significant upgrades cost about £5K :)(y)

but that would at least give you full air, not quite sure what semi is

edit

hang on, no comments please

these days semi is good (y)
