Hi DarrelThank you for your continued trust in Vanbitz over the years — it means the world to us.
While it’s true that Ash will be moving on to pursue a new venture, we want to reassure all our valued customers that Vanbitz remains very much open, fully operational, and committed to delivering the same 5-star service that has made us the UK’s leading name in motorhome security.
Our experienced and dedicated workshop team — the same skilled professionals who have fitted and supported your systems over the years — are all staying with us. We are immensely proud of the quality, workmanship, and customer care that define Vanbitz, and nothing about that is changing.
We sincerely thank Ash for his contributions and wish him the very best in his new chapter. Meanwhile, Vanbitz continues to thrive, evolve, and protect your motorhomes to the highest standard — just as we always have.
I hope this gives everyone a clear view moving forward from Darrel at van bitz
Hi Shiftzz,Hi Darrel
I hope this message finds you well.
You recently mentioned the workshop staff—may I ask whether Nick will be remaining with the company?
In my experience contacting Vanbitz, Ash has always demonstrated an impressive depth of knowledge. Will your team possess a similar level of expertise? I appreciate clear, straightforward explanations, and knowledgeable support is very important to me.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my stays at Cornish Farm. I understand that you have acquired over three acres of land from the neighbouring farmer—may I enquire if this is intended for an expansion of the campsite?
Lastly, I currently have a Vanbitz alarm system, as well as USB, solar, lithium components, and other accessories installed. Will these continue to be supported under your ownership? Additionally, will the Funster discount still be honoured?
Thank you in advance for your time and clarification.
Kind regards,
Shiftzz
Ps do you support the Nigels?
Serious note,.
I have always had excellent service and support from Vanbitz, Ash has sorted me out more than once, even on bank holidays, and yes I was an muppet.
I for one will be a customer of whatever Ash does, nothing has been too much trouble, just like Eddie...
I noticed a change in Vanbitz about 2 years ago, not the same as when Eddie was in charge. But things have moved on and so will I...
Have you seen Eddie play, he reminds me of Les Dawson playing the piano.Reminds me of a song by that guitar man Heinz; Altogether now . . .
Whenever you’re sad
Whenever you’re blue
Whenever your van is unsteady,
Beneath the stars
you can play your guitars . . . . .
Just like Eddie.
Bur not as well!Have you seen Eddie play, he reminds me of Les Dawson playing the piano.
Thank you so much for your kind words and continued support – we’re really pleased to hear you’ve been happy with your Vanbitz alarms.Had two alarms from them and happy with everything, I wish both Ash and Darrel all the best for the future.
One question though if Vanbitz owns the alarm system as such does this mean Ash will provide a different system, if so will it be the best as we’ve been lead to believe Vanbitz is and rightly so in my opinion. The dilemma for future customers is do we go with Ash as we know and trust him or Vanbitz as it’s the best alarm and so far the new owners have only received praise for their company.
Good luck to all involved
Thank you for your message and for your continued support.Whilst wishing Ash all the best in his new venture (whatever that might be) but I hope that Darrel@VanBitz continue to offer the strikeback/growler backup. Particularly the wiring loom records
Being Nobitz he has to tune to a Dropped B(llx)Bur not as well!
Thanks for your supportGlad to hear the reassurance from Darrel@VanBitz as we are also very satisfied customers of VanBitz having solar, B2B etc and a Strikeback alarm fitted by them. When we decide to move to Lithium batteries they will be the first company we contact.
New owners great improvements are a new branding. Hardly does anything for the guests does it!![]()
Vanbitz and Cornish Farm.
Visited the website of one of my favourite campsites, Cornish Farm, to find a fresh new look to the web page. On reading the news section I learned that the campsite AND Vanbitz had been sold in December to new owners. Presumably this was when Eddie retired, but what surprised me was that the...www.motorhomefun.co.uk
He had the offer but turned it down at the time if you read the previous posts! That’s the problem with going with these small companies. Things change and then the support has gone.
Shame Ash wasn’t given the company, and it was sold to others.
Thankyou very much for clarifying what happens regarding after sales service and warranties for those of us who have the Strikeback Growler. This isn’t our first but I’m pleased we still don’t have to travel far should we have problems.Hi Shiftzz,
Thank you for your message — it’s always great to hear from long-time Vanbitz customers, and I really appreciate you taking the time to get in touch.
To answer your questions:
Yes, there are some changes happening at Vanbitz. While both Ash and Nick will be moving on to new opportunities, I want to reassure you that our experienced and highly skilled workshop team is staying firmly in place. These are the same trusted technicians who have delivered the quality installations and service you’ve come to expect, and they continue to uphold the Vanbitz standards of workmanship, product knowledge, and support.
We absolutely understand the importance of clear and expert guidance — it’s a cornerstone of our approach, and that won’t be changing.
In terms of the Cornish Farm site, we’ve actually acquired a further five acres of land, and we’re excited to confirm that we’ve also recently purchased three additional campsites in the Somerset area. While it’s early days, we’re committed to growing both Vanbitz and Cornish Farm in ways that continue to serve the motorhoming community.
Regarding your current system and accessories — everything remains fully supported, and your warranties are unchanged. We’re proud to continue offering the same level of aftercare, and yes, the Motorhome Fun (Funster) discount is still very much in place.
Kind regards,
Darrel

No you didn't dream it, or if you did I had the same dreamI thought I saw a post the other day that vanbitz hAd gone into motorhome sales, did I dream it?
No it is Wellington ,the next junction down that is closedIt seems that the Highways Agency don't want anyone coming off the motorway at Taunton anyway at least for three months. Perhaps it's their "strike back" against change.
Don't think they will miss youNew owners great improvements are a new branding. Hardly does anything for the guests does it!
I was always very impressed with the site as it has pretty much everything you could wish for and always neat and tidy.
My old firm continues to rebrand every decade or so - usually costs a fortune and does absolutely nothing for the product or service!
There speaks an accountant rather than a marketing person. Much prefer demonstrable skills, expertise and personal recommendations than bullshit!
Yeah, nothing's changed since he retired.!Is Eddie now on a bath chair in some state run carehome in darkest Somerseti watching the RWC 2003 on a loop, smoking his Woodbines , sipping some cheap sherry from the local co-op. Dressed in an old cardigan, with his breakfast encrusted on the front, those pompom slippers and some faded Corduroy pants held up with some bailing twine and some broken braces. Teeff in and old jam jar, soaking in brine, on the table next to him a 1968 copy of a Freeman's catalogue, some pages welded together.
Ah bliss, getting old..
Rock on Eddie Van Bitz
Closing all the Junctions on the Somerset bypass would suit me just fine!It seems that the Highways Agency don't want anyone coming off the motorway at Taunton anyway at least for three months. Perhaps it's their "strike back" against change.
