Like a few newbys I am now investigating payload - after 2 years ownership.
My plate states 3650 Kg the V5 at
section F ( I think ) states the same yet further down the V5 it states ( section P - I think) maximum mass 3500.

Can anyone help?

I believe that I need only be concerned with the plated figure.

Thanks

Hi, we recently uprated our payload. The first V5 we received back was incorrect with 2 different figures (the revenue rate was uprated, the maximum mass was not). We sent it back explaining that both needed to be the same and, another 5 weeks later, received the correct V5.

It was important to me to have it correct because that’s the way I am

My V5 shows a revenue weight of 4200kg and the maximum permissible mass is left blank (original document for vehicle). I suspect that the revenue weight is what matters in the UK but I wouldn't want to have to argue with an official in another country that a lower maximum permissible mass figure should be ignored.

When I uprated my last van DVLA did the same, took 4 months to get it right.

As said probably ok in the UK but we hardly use the van in the UK so it was important to get it right.

If you are investigating payload then you need a trip to the weigh bridge. You probably have a light chassis so 2000kg will be the maximum you can have on the back axle. You will have another plate on the MH somewhere that gives you the weights for the axles.

The weights shown on the V5 are important when you are buying, selling and taxing the vehicle

Out there in the REAL world ( especially when you are stopped or talked to by DVSA or Police only 2 things matter:-
1 The plate under the bonnet and what it says
2. The actual weight of the vehicle,AT THAT MOMENT

Estimates, guestimates,MIRO,dealer, brochure, this forum, my opinion, your opinion AND V5 are all irrelevant to the authorities at that point

Simples

I,ve recently upplated from 3500kg. sent off v5 et al 7 weeks before tax due i didn'T expect it done in 3 weeks so no tax refund so no v70 tax refund form (A mistake).waited last day to retax. 2 weeks later please fill in this v70. Wait then get missmatched weights on v5 yet more waiting. Another member of the 4 month brigade.
Ps i sent copies of all previosly sent documents each time i contacted them so they could start from scratch each time or not talk about lost documents/info .last envelope was quite thick.

Dear DVLA,
By popular demand please re-open local offices.
If you must make money saving cuts then close Swansea and all other main offices instead.
Yours etc,
Someone with common sense (something all your staff are lacking.)
