My van currently has Agilis, CP (215/70/R15) which are rated 109. All the tyres I have been looking at for this size are around the same (about 107/109).

I am advised to got for 112 rating, but how could I get a 112 rating for the same tyre size ?

Would I have to put wider tyres on my existing rims ?

You need 225 70 15 they are slightly wider so make sure you have room in wheel arches

What's the gross weight of your van?

Does it really matter? There are tons of white vans fully loaded on all sorts of tyres. Everyone will have the best ones, because they've bought them.

You have already started a comprehensive Q and A thread on this topic why start another? You appear to be developing a tyre obsession!!

If you want 3850 kg mam with 2240 kg on the rear axle you need 225/70/r15 with a 112 rating.

As dash300 said, why start another thread on the same subject? You have plenty information on the other thread and I gave you a link to the company I bought from, if you want to go up a rating search for the next size up. I don't think you will go far wrong looking on Camskill's website for the info you need.

Thanks for input.

I think my license limits me to 3500 max ?

I was asking about ratings cos some posts indicated higher safety margin with tougher tyres.

I'm not good with decisions - so in the end was just glad to get it over with . . . .

Update: in the end I went with Bridgestone Duravis, at the sizes specified by manufacturer.
