Baffled by 2 unknown switches next to the contol panel. When the main power is switched off the small rocker switch shows that it's on when flicked to on position (as shown in pic) however, when the large switch is turned on (pressed down) the red light on the small rocker switch goes off?

Firstly, I haven't got a clue what either of these do and some of the other switches in the van look as though they are in the on position (uk) but this may be a French thing that I'm unaware of.

Any ideas? Thanks, Paul

Can't see any photo. Just click on Attach files and er, attach it. :)

Can't see a picture but is it changing from hab battery to engine battery?

Sounds likr something added by previous owner. I'm always doing this but I label them, otherwise I'd probably forget what they do. Electronic dymo labellers can make quite neat labels for switches etc.

Doh!!!! Forgot to attach the picture....it looks like a Pilote installation

On ours that’s the switch for the TV and the sockets are in cupboard above fridge.
Up is on (it’s a French thing)!

Sorry I'm talking about the large switch far right! We don't have the small switch on ours so not sure what that does!

The awning light is on the bulkhead next to the stepnasyou come in along with the min lights and led''s. So, I'm going to have a look and see if they are isolator type switch for the TV sockets above fridge. I was also wondering if perhaps it's anything like a heater control for the waste tank to make it completely winterised?

Paul,

Switch with chrome surround on the right is factory fit and it switches on the 12v power to the tv point which is a cigarettete lighter type socket located in the panel at the back of the cupboard above the fridge/freezer.

Small round one, no idea but have you the winter pack fitted which includes the waste tank heating pad? If yes then this maybe the on/off switch.

If no, take the black control panel above the hab' door out and trace the wires to the small round switch. The black panel is held in be 6 or 8 plastic 'tree' fittings and just pulls out.

Cheers
Richard

We have a couple of the small rocker switches fitted
On ours one is to isolate the water pump and the other for some additional lighting that I fitted
Switch it off and then see whats stops working (y)could be for any number of things.

I think Richard is correct. We were informed that it's got the winter pack so perhaps it's the waste tank heater. I will have a play around to see if anything else is effected by the smaller rocker switch, although, when it's on and illuminated once the bigger switch is turned on the illumination on the smaller rocker goes out?

Paul,

The switch with the chrome surround appeared, on my G740C anyway, to be used as the main on/off switch for 12v auxiliary accessories as it provided the power to the front and rear tv points and was wired back directly to the Electroblok by the factory.

Are there any other 12v accessories such as a fridge cooling fan, satellite tuner box etc. fitted to yours by any chance which use the small round switch for secondary power isolation

Cheers
Richard

I think the first one is the rocket launcher :)

Richard,
We do have a sat dome but that starts up and starts seeking without any power switches being on. Thus I assume it's live all the time? The 12v cigarette socket in the cupboard is also live all the time with all power to the van off (apart from being on ehu) the 2 pictures below is what's in the cupboard above the fridge?

Perhaps I will have to phone Wilmotts to see if they have any record of what they fitted for the first owner?

Paul,

Is the round switch the power supply to the Maxview box (black/red cable going from the box through the rear panel).

Hope that's not an example of dealer wiring!

Cheers
Richard

Richard, the max view box powered up even though the round toggle switch was in the off position. I belI've that is dealer wiring (wilmotts)
