Hi all, hoping for some advice as I've run out of ideas! My mobilvetta 7 berth on a 2008 Peugeot boxer chassis sits lower on the offside rear by about 25mm. I purchased new twin leaf heavy duty springs from Jones Springs and got to work. When I took the old sagging leaf off and compared to the new leaf the old one had a larger arch shape than the new leaf. This puzzled me, but I went on and fitted it anyway. Once fitted I lowered the van back down but it sank to the bump stop. (somewhat predictably) I spoke to Jones springs and they sent an additional leaf, I installed this but still the same result! Jones springs says they don't know why this is happening. I've re-fitted the old leaf and it sits as originally, sagging but not on the bump stop.

If I install assisted air suspension will this level out the back of the van?
Thanks in advance

It would in the short term.....but I’d be worried about the long term effect on the air bag, as the name suggests it’s air assisted suspension, to assist the original spring/damper setup.

Thanks, I had similar concerns. Any idea who I can contact for more advice on more suitable leaf springs? It's difficult to know as the van is uprated to 4000kg on the plate but most boxers are 3500kg max.

Probably best to speak to one of the upgrading / up-plating company’s for advice.....or wait till someone here comes forward with a suitable name. I know a lot of people do use SvTech for up-plating tho.

Be careful with your questions and answers at the minute tho.....you can only post five times without a paid subscription, which is well worth it to be honest.

fiat chassis are designed to run on the bump stops they are actually called spring assisters .There shouldnt be a significant difference in ride height unless there is a lot of weight one side

1) I'd be subscribing to the forum for the wealth of knowledge, support & advice.
2) I'd be checking your max permissable axle weights to make sure you're not overloaded.

It is possible that your vehicle had extra load springs fitted when uprated , the Jones springs may be "heavy duty" compared with standard springs , but not when compared with the actual springs that you have fitted .
Ideally you need to get rear axle weighed total and individual so you know what weights you have each side . Some vehicles have more set to the spring on one side , eg early landrovers as driver , fuel tank , and battery were all on same side of vehicle .
