Which way to turn? Seems very tight

Blue bottles right hand.(normal thread)
Red bottles left hand ( reverse thread)
So is that clockwise to undo?

Edit: got it sorted. Was helping a neighbour trying to remove Calor bottle form their VW. Had been tightening it! Managed it with my plumber’s grip. Thanks all.

Are we talking about the valve or pigtail connection nut

Left hand is opposite. So left hand thread turns clockwise to undo and right hand thread turns anti-clockwise to undo.

propane anti clockwise

Normally righty tighty, lefty, losy, but the red bottles are righty losy, lefty tighty 👍🏻

Just to confuse - the tap that screws into a Campingaz bottle is a normal right hand thread but connection of pigtail is left hand as with Calor propane and butane bottles - all use same fitment

It was the bottle to pigtail connection. Chap had been trying to use a cheap thin aluminium spanner which was bending but on top was also tightening it. I have a heavy cast iron or steel spanner supplied when I bought our van but have lost it since fitting an Alugas bottle.
I asked neighbour if he was sure about the direction of turn and he was sure. Hence my post.
Loosened it easily in the end with my adjustable spanner.

Now where is my gas bottle spanner? 🙂
