Pretty much got the hang of it now!
Hi All

Does anyone know companies that can do undersealing of motorhomes? I live in Welwyn Garden City and all the companies I have tried so far say they can't handle the size of our MH- Autotrail Dakota SE. It is 7.3 m long, 2.9m high and 2.3m wide, 3300kg MGW (atm unloaded)

Happy to go up to a 50 mile radius approx. but obviously closer would be nicer!!:giggle:

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Rob
I wasnt planning to get it done soon. I have a service, hab check, MOT to get done but I am just doing some research ready for when we can make non-essential journeys.

Do it yourself.....I did. Easy to apply. (y)

Gets great reviews from the 4 x 4 community.

Unless it's a new van , you could be very well sealing a rust problem in causing bigger problems in the future.

Hi Sapper520
Thanks for that. I will look into the product and give it some consideration.

Hi Hymerman
Thanks for that. Yes it is an older MH and what you say makes a lot of sense. I thought it could hide issues later on. There seems to be two schools of thought. Get the rust sorted and sealed or sealed and the rust is inhibited as it has no access to water and air(???) or as you say, leave it be. So I am leaning towards your thinking:unsure:!
Cheers

I think there’s been one of two threads about under-sealing Moho in the past.

Ive got no idea what the titles would be for searching but maybe a general search might bring it up 🤷‍♂️

I seem to remember one was quite long and covered lots of different ideas 😊

It’s a clear lubricant, well used by the 4 x 4 crowd. (y)

Sapper520 did you use Lanoguard?
If so did you jet wash first and was it already rusting.

New van in September so pretty much clean underneath. The Lanoguard is very easy to spray on.

However, having been underneath to spray the Lanoguard on, I could easily get under there with my hose.......I’d never use a pressure washer ( on my own vehicles that is). You’d have more control over the cleaning with a hose anyway.

I’m taking into account I’m relatively mobile as well. ;)

Lanoguard typically lasts up to a year, but we recommend twice-yearly treatments to ensure your machines stay protected and in optimal condition.

Hi
Whenever I have any of my vehicles up on inspection ramps, I always have my trust tub of rust inhibiter, wire brush and paint brush handy.
Any areas starting to show signs of corrosion get wire brushed and treated.
It takes no time and I have never had anything fail due to corrosion, it also makes removing nuts and bolts easy.

I prefer ACF50, but also use Waxoil for some areas only because I bought 20litres from ebay auction a while ago.

ACF50 is good and I use it on the motorbikes. I have used the black Waxoyl on the external surfaces of the Fiat motorhome ladder rack chassis. I used the normal waxoyl sprayed in to the box sections of the chassis.
